The 2009 race, our tenth, will be my last year as the primary event organizer and director. We will be making an eventual announcement about the future of the Indianapolis Adventure Race where we hope for it to continue along with its charitable mission. Thanks to all those who have volunteered, participated and supported the race throughout the years. Expect a fun and challenging course this year! Michael Sapper
Please visit the race history pages to see what were about. The Indianapolis Adventure Race is a 100% charity event. Through 2009 we have donated over $60,000 to various charities and we will continue this tradition in 2010.
100% of the proceeds from 2009 will benefit:
the American Brain Tumor Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

The Indianapolis Adventure Race is a team event that combines road mountain biking, canoeing, trail running/hiking, orienteering/navigation, rope work and surprise mystery events. Teams consist of three: coed, all male and female. All team members must start and finish together, covering the entire course together. The actual distances, course layout and order of events will not be disclosed until race day.
- Race Divisions: 3 person co-ed, all-male, all-female
- Race Field: 55 Teams
- Date: September 19th, 2009
- Entry Fee: $75 per person through May 31st, $90 through close of registration
- Start time: 8am and location: Messiah Lutheran Church located on the northwest corner of 56th and Raceway road. (6100 N Raceway Rd Indianapolis, IN 46234-3037).
